Perfect if your a big fan of troma
Otherwise, i'd probably recommend saving some $$$ and grabbing the 2 disc set.
Although the 3 disc set is limited to 15 000 copies, and mine was 14 357, so they'll probably be gone soon, if you'd like one thats numbered, i wouldn't hesitate on picking this one up as soon as possible.
I'll be watching this tonight! cant wait! =)
A Real STINKER - Any Way You Cut This Cheese!
Let me start by stating that I enjoy both zombie films and comedy films, and I enjoy them meshed together in a single film...when the end product is well done. This movie, POULTRYGEIST: Night Of The Chicken Dead, should receive negative stars simply because it fails in every way possible. The zombie aspect of this film is ridiculously stupid and not the least bit scary, the jokes are asinine, moronic, and pathetic, the acting is mind-numbingly atrocious, the singing is ear-bleedingly awful, the constant barrage of nudity and sex is lame, and the production is below sub-par. Okay, now that I've listed the bad points here are the good aspects: .............................. Nope, none to be found. Not a single thing. Oh, wait, yes there was! The image of the egg yolk eyeball that moves a little bit on the home screen. That was entertaining...for about 10 seconds. If you feel that an animated version of the cover is worth the price, then by all means buy this blu-ray edition. Otherwise, this movie is a waste of space, a waste of money, and a waste of time. Then again, everyone's tastes differ, so if you enjoy the absolute worst of bad film-making, and the most immature and idiotic scatological humor then you've just hit the jackpot!
I'm actually a bit perturbed that Amazon suggested this film to me simply because I had bought a few other zombie films. Do not be scammed! This is a horrible piece of fecal material!
Poultrygeist: 4 drumsticks out of 5!
Really the only thing that anyone needs to now about Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, is that it's a Troma release. I think that statement in itself says everything you really need to know here. That being said, I think Lloyd Kaufman really outdid himself with this one.
Chickens, buckets of gore, shots at every race, creed, and culture, this one has got it all! Not that it's anything new for Troma, but in these times we live in, it was particularly refreshing to see something as non-politically correct as Poultrygeist. The only thing that bogged the movie down was the musical numbers, which still would have been very stupid even if the actors COULD sing. Thankfully the musical aspect subsided in the second half and things got back on track.
Classic Troma, classic crud! Any Troma, gore lovers, and z-movie fanatics should have a field day with Poultrygeist, check it out!
I underestimated how low Troma can sink
I have seen some other Troma films, so I was not expecting great art. But I wasn't expecting excrement either. Excrement is what I got. I was able to sit through the scene where the naked 500 pound man has a supernaturally intense bout of projectile diarrhea. But I was beaten when the hero burst into song while mopping it up. I doubt that I will ever watch the rest of this garbage.
Yes folks, this is a musical. But the songs are really bad and it is very tedious listening to them. There is plenty of nudity, but none of the actors (or actresses) are very attractive so the nudity is also just tedious. The producers wanted a movie that is as gross as possible. And they got it. Looking for a really gross flick? Look no further. But if you are looking for anything else, do yourself a favor and keep looking. This film is disgusting. This is only the second time that I have rated a film one star.
Warning - Nothing but a cheap PORN Movie!!!
We bought this expecting a "B" chicken zombie movie with fairly bad acting to amuse us. After 10 minutes of nothing but porn we turned it off and I have returned the movie to Amazon. Nowhere in the write ups did it mention this is a soft porn movie. It doesn't even have a rating, but it should be rated X. We're not prudes in any sense of the word, but this went way beyond mildly amuzing sexual scenes. Amazon had reccomended this after we had purchased a few other zombie movies. What's wrong with you Amazon? Do you even know what you are selling? I also found the portrayal of the one Native American as a drinking, vomitting idiot offensive. Definitely not a family or date movie. I could go on for a long time describing how awful this movie is, but I think you get te point by now. It shouldn't even be sold on Amazon - an adult bookstore maybe. I suppose if you're sick, twisted or demented you'll find it amusing, otherwise - STAY AWAY!!!!!!
