Heavy duty holder that looks good too
Purchased this to replace one that my wife knocked off the counter and broke. Holder is heavy duty and does the job it's intended for. If you use the extra large rolls of paper towels, they may be a tight fit in this, but should still work.

Little Red RoosterI have another paper towel holder that is easier to use. BUT I have always wanted a big red rooster in my kitchen. He looks fine standing heads above all else on my kitchen counter STRONG! Cast iron strong. My designer screamed no roosters in the Kitchen! Now the kitchen is re-modelled and My rooster stands proud. He is the only one allowed in the kitchen. (There can only be one!) You have to unscrew the chicken head to replace the paper-towels but that is a small inconvenience to this stately beauty. Yeah the designer was awed. GET REAL! He wanted something that hard and masculine in his kitchen too.

Good, Sturdy Paper-Towel Holder
This holder is not too heavy and is very sturdy. The rooster screws off from the top to allow the papertowels to be put on. It's a simple, basic design overall. The color and design is very nice. The only problem I had was when I first opened the package and discovered a chip on the tip of the short rod that tears the papertowels. It isn't very noticable when it is turned to one side.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting to add some flavor to their kitchen or someone who is a fan of roosters.

It is too tight
I love the look of this paper-towel holder, but it doesn't function very well. The space between the guide bar and the rod is too small for a full role of paper towels. I have to leave the rooster off the top until I have used at least 1/4 of the roll, otherwise I can't get the roll to turn & the towels won't come off.

It's red and has a rooster on it...
It is what my wife wanted and she is well pleased. I'd rate it higher is the peg were spring loaded and stayed tight against the roll for easier tear off.
