This astonishing, scintillating collection from the silent era, most of which are from the 1920s, are genuine, legitimate and by today's hardcore standards, amazingly charming, pornographic short films that leave nothing to the imagination. From predictable fantasy scenarios - monk spies on, then joins naughty nuns; teacher must spank naughty schoolgirls - to more esoteric fare (homosexuality and animal ecstasy, to name just two), vintage porn has never been more accessible...or attainable. The 12 shorts in The Good Old Naughty Days were primarily designed to be shown in the waiting rooms of brothels, amusing patrons - and no doubt giving them some ideas - as they awaited their girl. They also reveal production standards far in advance of comparable films being made elsewhere at the time, as well as an inventive and often humorous array of diverse couplings. These films were usually created in a haphazard fashion in an afternoon with friends and local prostitutes lending a hand for a few cents. All of them requested to remain anonymous, which makes it impossible to identify who really acted or directed them. For this reason, it is rather delightful to watch these "actors" often having to readjust their wigs and fake moustaches in the middle of their scenes so as not to be recognized unmasked. It is nevertheless touching to see how fresh and naïve these films look in comparison with today's X-rated film productions. Considering the age of these films, it is miraculous that they have been rediscovered and restored. These films are a part of our heritage and certainly a part of the secret history of cinema. In their own amusing way, these images involve us in a very direct, physical and intimate relationship with the good old days. These films have been restored by the Archives of the Centre National de la Cinématographie (The National Center for Cinematography in France). Amazingly interesting collection
Whenever we think about our grand parents, or great grand parents times, or even before, we tend to imagine those times as very prude and innocent, with a very Victorian set of mind. But, for the most part, I think that once we dish the formal gatherings, we are pretty much mistaken, and this is a great example of such fact. Do you think the fantasy of a menage a trois is an invention of our generation? Think again.

Now, if I found this collection so interesting, why did I gave it four stars instead of five? Well, probably because of modern sensibility. I was unable to watch the whole thing at once. As porn in our day and age has gone main stream, we are used to audio on it, and other unspoken elements that allow you to watch the "action" and have a time to relax before the next steamy scene. I, for one, was unable to watch more than 30 minutes of this collection at a time. It gets old after a while, and you have to let it rest for a couple of days before going back to it.

But all and all, if you like the idea of having this collection, more from the collectors point of view, it is a good item to acquire.

Silent film porn?!
The description on the back of the video is very appropriate. Basically it is more wild and more innocent at the same time. I could be wrong about this, and very few if any are alive today who could tell me, but it seems that once they broke the rules, they decided to just go ahead and break all of them! Porn today is more cynical and formulaic in comparison. It isn't really as taboo-breaking as it was back then, and it's come up with new sets of rules; the main one is that gay action can never be shown with straight and lesbian (except for the occasional specifically marketed "bisexual" porn). The total absence of homophobia was one of the most memorable things about it!

It also shows the different styles of clothing and hair that people had back then. One guy looked like a Victorian gentleman and it was pretty funny seeing him in such a position. The actors awkwardly took off layers and layers of clothing and the one sexual thing that appeared to have not been invented yet was the "striptease". Sometimes it had that silent film speeded-up style which made it comical. It was not as monotonous as some porn is today because they went quickly from one thing to the next. What I really liked was that they looked like real people, instead of the floating orbs of silicone that are common today.

It looks like it didn't take too long after the invention of video for someone to get the idea to record people having sex. That's human nature!

GREAT OLD PORN!
Images pretty good, story lines same as now, not too much has changed. Did have some animals involved in licking various "body parts". Didn't care for that. Bought for a friend who thoroughly enjoyed it, and so did I.

See? Even our grandparents and great-grandparents made porn! I think these clips were made in France, but some of them are hardcore. I prefer natural bodies, and all of the bodies on this disk are natural--no silicon here! Many of the clips are funny. It was well worth the price.

This vid proves there is nothing new in the world!
Bl**dy hell! This is absolutely filthy!!! It just goes to show that whatever you can think of someone has already filmed it and made money from it in the process!
