Like most children, painters throughout history have loved animals—and this gallery of delightfully touchable creatures showcases a menagerie of artistic beasts. Little hands will enjoy stroking a red feather on Picasso’s The Rooster, feeling soft fleece in Milton Avery’s Sheep, 1952, and petting a kitten’s whiskers in Henri Rousseau’s The Tabby. They can even smell a scratch-and-sniff cheese surface on van Gogh’s Two Rats!

Art and animals - a great combo for kids
As a fan of this series, what I particularly like about Catch Picasso's Rooster is the combination of art and animals. Kids always like seeing, learning about and touching animals. This book allows parents with an interest in art to sneak some art appreciation into what otherwise would be a more usual board book about animals. My favorite page is The Foxhounds - a great painting shown here with cute soft ears!
No Better Way To Introduce Your Children to Art
Another creative, educational and entertaining book that introduces children to art. Not only is the wording witty but the paintings are carefully chosen to appeal to children. Since the book is interactive, it gives kids the opportunity to be explore well known paintings and, of course, to ask lots of questions. This book is a fabulous addition to a must read series of children books.
They've done it again!
The imaginative, creative authors of the Touch the Art series have once again brought their talents to young children. These two new titles, "Catch Picasso's Rooster" and "Tickle Tut's Toes" have all the beauty and excitement of the first series and even more charm and whimsy. Children can actually play with the books, and in the process, engage in an intimate relationship with works of art that they otherwise would probably not see or understand for many years. My grandchildren love these books, and I find that when I take them to art museums they are now genuinely interested, searching for the works of one of the painters this series has introduced them to. Bravo!
Another Great Touch the Art Book
My kids loved the first 4 books in the Touch the Art series and were very excited to learn about the new books. Just like the others, my kids love to read and touch these books. I love them becasue they are fun, instructional, tactile and such high quality. Not only do my kids learn from these books - I learn something every time I read them.
My kids can't put any of the Touch The Art books down. We all love them. They are our favorite books.
